Loans              The possession of a library card entitles the holder to use the loan service.              The personal loan service of the BN (National Library of Andorra) is immediate and intransferable.              The card-holder is the sole party responsible, on a general basis, for the material on loan.              Types of loans:              Personal loan                        - The personal loan service is subject to the working calendar of the BN.                        - Personal loans are made for a time of 15 days and they may be extended for an additional 15 days.                        - Loans are for a maximum of three volumes per card-holder.              Special loans for studies and/or research:                        In this case the applicant shall present a researcher's card or a document accrediting the study                        or research under way (a letter from the respective university teacher or rector, etc.).              Special loans for exhibitions:                        In this case the applicant organization shall present its request in writing. It shall likewise provide assurance                        that the exhibition fulfils the rules in force with respect to security measures, temperature and humidity                        conditioning for the books, and insurances stipulated for such cases.              Inter-library loans:                        - This service involves the reciprocal loan of documents between libraries round the world,                           allowing a user of the BN to request a document from other libraries and a user of other                           libraries to request a loan from the BN.                        - The request shall be made in writing (letter, fax or e-mail).                        - The length of the loan and the time required to convey the material are set out by the rules                           governing this type of service in each library.                        - The cost of this service will be for the account of the applicant according to the rates in force                           at the time when the application is submitted.                              Rates - BN (National Library of Andorra):                                 - Libraries in Andorra: free of charge                                 - Libraries in Spain and France: 12 euros                                 - Libraries in the rest of Europe: 24 euros                                 - Libraries in the rest of the world: 30 euros                              Request form              Publications not available for loan:                   - Encyclopaedias, dictionaries, bibliographic guides, and large reference works.                   - Periodical publications (newspapers, magazines and journals, bulletins, etc.),                      brochures, posters, prints and other ephemeral material.                   - Out-of-print publications, when the BN has no duplicates of the same edition.                   - Books and works forming part of the Antique and Rare Books section and the special collections.                   - Books containing plates.
